8 – Spring Part 2

Wow what a difference a few weeks make, it looks like a jungle again. Its been warm and wet and ive only been down to the allotment a couple of times due to being very busy with other stuff. Anyhow alot has happened…

Bricks, neighbour is getting his garden done this year and had a pile of rubble full of paving brick. they where more than happy to see them gone so managed to get a nice pile of those to use for edging.

Also did some phoning around for free woodchip, amazing how many places especially tree surgeons struggle to get rid of wood chip. Any how one fella rang me back and said he could dump a small truck load on my drive. Just have the task now of getting all this wood and the bricks down to the allotment, might just have stick a few bricks and a bag of bark in the car boot each time I go down.

A few car trips later, a bit of weeding and can now see how the allotment is going to end up looking. I’ve given up on the bottom half this year, just too much work so will concentrate on getting the top half sorted organised and tidy.

As you can see weeds are out of control, hopefully the woodchip will help supress the weeds. From my estimates the wood chip and bricks will easilly be able to complete the top half, once that’s done I will see how much I have left as what to do next.
