3 – New Allotment – Making Progress

This is our second trip down to our new allotment, didnt stay long again as the kids got bored real fast and must have got up on the wrong side of bed.

We cleared out some of the weeds we missed the week before at the top and chopped the hedge back to the fence line. We neighbour a sensory garden which is left to grow wild but many plants have crept into the allotment. Lots of bushes, Ash saplings, nettles and bramble growing and rooting across the allotment so need to get that back under control.

Got the ground sheet down over where we have weeded, should kill any bits of weed we have missed and stop anything growing back. Have some old wood boarders which I took out of the garden a few months earlier which I haven’t got round to giving away so decided to bring some of them down with me and use them as a temporary edging.

Only made small progress today but at least we are moving forwards. Maybe next time when I clear the path and we weed another patch it will look like more has happened.
